Ghost Hall The Ghost Files Book 4 eBook Michelle Wright

This book was truly awful. If it were possible to give it a Zero-Star rating, I would.

First, the typographical editing is terrible, bordering on non-existent.

Second, the basic grammatical construction of both sentences and paragraphs is horrible. Apparently, the author could not decide on whether to use first person present tense or third person past tense, so she used both - often in the same sentence. That was a really mental delight to interpret!

But, the killing blow is the manner in which the author de-evolved the characters. This is the fourth entry in a series being written by several different authors. The first three books established our main characters, Monty and Ellen Drew, as mature, emotionally stable, well-educated and very capable investigators. Before this book is half over, Michelle Wright transforms them into hormonally raging, emotionally immature card-board cutouts without a lick of sense or skill between them. Ms Wright has them sounding and acting as if they were middle-schoolers rather than the forty-somethings that they really are.

Frankly, it is hard for me to believe that J.R. Rain Publishing actually let this one get away from them with so many problems. This is not a Kindle World entry over which they have no control.

Ghost Hall The Ghost Files Book 4 eBook Michelle Wright Reviews

This story is written in an easy flowing style that goes down like a cup of comforting hot tea. The pacing is consistent and gripping; the characters extremely likable. But then there's the underlying theme - a difficult one of hate that consumes all that is good around it. Hate that kills, hate that creates so much pain. It is very real and horrific because it's part of the world's legacy. But Michelle Wright expresses in her story how love and a good soul can overcome evil. This is not a simple paranormal investigation - it's a walk from the darkness into the light. And it teaches us how we can all fight that darkness if we believe strongly enough. This is a story of faith and remembrance. Yes, there is hope in it, but the author also stresses how some places hold on to the memories and how some things can never be forgotten... 5 stars!
I think it might have been a good read but I couldn't finish past the first few pages. The dialogue continued to repeat itself on each page. The proofreader failed miserably. It appears almost as if the pages were thrown together as a last thought. One paragraph would be half way through a thought the the next page would be something else. The page after would finish the first thought then repeat what I had just read in the prior one. Very disappointed with wasting money
Great Series
This book was suspenseful exciting and sad but it turned out okay. I can't wait for the next book in this series, quite a few great writers in this series.
Michelle Wright's Ghost Hall will raise the hair on the back of your neck. You're going to be scared, or at least creeped out. Because it's not a simple ghost story -- it's a story about a building filled with ghosts! And these aren't friendly ghosts or just confused spirits who haven't moved on. These are aggressive ghosts and someone has died. A construction worker falls off a ladder to his death. Was it a simple accident or did one of the ghosts give him a helping hand?

Ellen and Monty are called in to investigate by the new owner of the old building, who is finding his attempts to renovate the building stymied by the ghosts. Ellen is a talented psychic who has banished ghosts before, and now she and her former-P.I. husband Monty are headed to Belgium to see if they can find some answers. The city of Brussels plays a large role in this book, as Ellen and Monty try to squeeze some sight-seeing and other tourist activities into their business trip. Wright, a Brit now living in Belgium, paints a lovely picture of her adopted country. By the end of the book, I was wishing I could book my plane ticket right then!

Ellen and Monty experience some harrowing encounters with the ghosts inhabiting the ancient building. Wright makes you feel their terror and she depicts Monty as a protective husband who is man enough to trust his wife, even when things seem dangerous. The couple work together like a pair of dancers, each calling on their own strengths to figure out the mystery and accomplish their goals.

Overall, this is a delightful book -- charming, a little sexy, puzzling -- but don't worry that you won't be frightened. Ghost Hall has plenty of spine-tingling moments!
Michelle Wright penned the first international paranormal mystery for The Ghost Files series. As I read Ghost Hall, the hairs rose up on the back of my neck and on my arms. The setting is spine-tingling, the underlying mystery was dark and heartbreaking, and the physical and spiritual danger during the investigation had me on edge. This book pushed buttons in me that I didn't expect. This is a scary ghost mystery, with ghost villains bound by a heinous history and a husband and wife team of paranormal investigators who push the boundaries of their humanity to get the job done. Five stars. - Eve Paludan, author of The Man Who Fell from the Sky
Just finished Ghost Hall and I have to say I'm disappointed. The link between Ellen and Monty that had grown over books 2 and 3 was not even used. The language present in the first book was back, even Ellen used it, which was really unneccesary. I know they are written by different authors but did Ms. Wright actally read the third book so she could continue the character storyline. The plot was good and believable but when characters do not act the same it takes away from the story. I also have to say there were editting issues that even I noticed and had to back up to figure out what they meant to say, normally I don't see editting problems even if previous reviewers have stated they are an issue. Not a bad read, just not what I expected from the series.
