Wanted Wanted Series Book 1 edition by Kelly Elliott Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Upon first impression I realized that Kelly Elliott had hit the mark with Wanted. It was brilliant to tie the book into the song by Hunter Hayes. This is a romantic story of Ellie who was a broken girl that was told from a very young age that she would never be wanted. Ellie met her brother's best friend Gunner during an extremely trying moment in her life. There was an instant chemistry but she was afraid to give him her heart. Gunner did everything in his power to prove to Ellie that he wanted her as a strong man that was not afraid to show love and emotion.

There is also a sub story about the passion that Ellie's best friend Ari and her brother Jeff (also Gunner's best friend) feel for each other but Jeff is fighting because he is just as broken as Ellie.

This is a great read for a romantic at heart. However, there are some scenes that are explicit and profanity is used throughout the book. This only makes the storyline more modern. I would highly recommend this book. 5 stars!!!!!
The book was interesting. I liked that it gave me butterflies when I was reading it. The endearments were sweet. Later on though it became a bit tad too sweet that I felt like I was having a toothache. I did find Jeff and Ari's story interesting too but all that cussing was a bit off for me that I don't think I'll be buying the next book as much as I am curious with what happens to them.
This book had soooooo much potential to be great. The premise of it had me hooked, but the writing was that of a high school freshman. I'm not sure it has been edited at all. The punctuation did not even make sense most of the time or was missing all together. The author used the same phrases over and over to the point of annoyance. I don't mind swearing (I do quite a bit of it myself) but what was in this book was to the extreme. Everyone was swearing and not just a little here and there. It was everywhere and became distracting at times. I just wish she would have re-read this to herself to see how much potential the story actually had.
I read all of the negative reviews and was a little worried. Trust me on this one... this was a wonderful book! If you can over look grammar and just pay attention to the story, you will love it! First things first The book had a lot of grammar problems, but after a few chapters I looked past that. The story was awesome. I read tons and tons of books, but this really pulled me in! I fell in love with all of the main characters. It was a true "love story"... not just a bing-bang get it over with romance. I loved the fact that this was a series and decent length of the books, so I was quite excited knowing that the story would continue on for awhile, until I looked on and realized that the other books continue with other character's lives. I was really disappointed, but now that I have finished, I really have to continue and need to know what happens. Just one-clicked!
I tried. I really tried. I got to 62% and couldn't force myself to read any further. It's a great premise but it just draaaaags on forever! I get it. Her mom is a crazy abusive alcoholic but she strings Gunner on and jumps in and pulls back. So obnoxious! Also, the way Gunner and Jefferson speak is not at all how college guys would talk. They are like old men! Annoying old men. Just don't bother. Even free isn't worth your time, unfortunately.
I love this series, I read the other series, Love Wanted in Texas, and this series is supposed to be about the parents of those characters. However, the Wanted series takes place in current times also, the songs and the cell phones and such, makes it unbelievable for the series. The stories are good, I am in book 2 but you need to be prepared it is not going to make sense until you mentally move past the the era mistake.
I feel bad about writing this review. I have never given any book such a poor review but I have to be honest. This is an all around terrible book. There are lots of romance books that are nice, easy, predictable reads but this wasn't even good enough to be called mediocre. First of all, the writing is terrible. I felt like I was reading a junior high school girl's diary. While the story line had potential the author never took it anywhere. The characters were immature and annoying and such whiny, drama filled messes. I love you, I hate you, I love you, blah, blah, blah. All the crying and yelling and storming off and completely unbelievable inconsistencies made this incredibly difficult to get through. I really wanted to just stop after about 30% but I always finish a book before I judge it. Jefferson and Ellie grew up in a dysfunctional home with an alcoholic mother who is verbally abusive. Jefferson does his best to look out for and protect his younger sister but one night the mother fills Ellie's head with the idea that no one will ever want her and that all men are users that only want one thing from girls like her. Again, this story line could have developed into a great story...but it doesn't. It's just a bunch of crying and moaning no one loves me, poor me, boo hoo. Then there's Gunner, who is coming from his own dysfunctional family background where again I think the author missed the perfect opportunity for some character development. Even Gunner was kind of annoying in this book. There were so many things that just didn't fit, that made the story unbelievable or and least disjointed. This book also has a cliff hanger, kind of. It's really more like an introduction for the next book about Jefferson and Arianna, which I will not be reading. I don't care if Jefferson knocked up Rebecca or not. It's not worth the torture of having to read anymore of this drivel.
